As of Wednesday all preliminary testing is completed for the transplant to begin. I began the day with a pulmonary test followed by an Echo of the heart, EKG, Chest X-ray, Complete Blood Work Up and finalized the day with the Doctor’s validation that I was ready. The 29th remains the day to be admitted for transplant.Having been 3 ½ months from the first transplant has just begun to give me some relief in the foot and ankle swelling, so based on a rerun of events for the future I should be where I am now some time in January after the second transplant. From that point forward it should be continued gain since the hope is that a controlled response will follow with no signs of myeloma activity. I have been unable to tolerate a full day of activity thus far and usually have an afternoon nap. The fatigue and weakness continues with much more sleep than I am accustomed too. The “Chemo Brain” which relates directly to the high toxicity of treatments given should in time allow for a clearer mind which has bothered...
